PRODUCTION OPERATIVE REQUIRED IN KEMPSTON AREA!

Are you looking for a new opportunity as Production Operative? We are currently recruiting on behalf of our client based in Kempston (Bedford). Join the team and showcase your expertise in seat/foam manufacturing.

Position: Production Operative
Location: Kempston, Bedford
Pay Rate: £10.75 per hour
Working Hours: Monday to Thursday 7am-5pm and Friday 7am -1pm

Summary

Production of foam products.  Operating machinery and tools as trained and instructed and ensuring waste/rework is kept to a minimum

 

These duties involve working in close proximity to moving mechanical parts. Chemicals, for example, isocyanates, are used in the production process.

 

Essential Duties & Responsibilities 

  • Maintain own working area to clean and satisfactory level.
  • Line Operative rotating between the various processes in the production of the foam product:

 

Demould

To unclamp and open the moulds ensuring that the mould vents are cleaned and waxed.  This involves heavy lifting on a repetitive basis.

Demould part ensuring the tool is clean – hand wax areas of sticking

 

Wax

Make sure the tool is clean.

To spray wax the tool ensuring an even coat of release agent, in line with required quality, environmental and health and safety standards.

 

Gunning

Apply polyol/isocyanate mix into the mould and close the tool securely

 

Quality

When required, to undertake a brief inspection of parts, take the necessary action to rectify faults or inform the appropriate people so that faults can be rectified.

 

Other Duties

Experience, Skills and Qualifications Required

 

  • Physical fitness to a level that enables the job holder to undertake repetitive heavy lifting.
  • Basic communicative English – able to understand verbal and written instructions
  • An understanding of differing requirements for different customers/parts.
