Location: Northampton
Salary: £28,000 – £32,000 per year (depending on experience)
Work Schedule: Preferably Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday (negotiable), with availability to take urgent calls/emails outside the hours
About Our Client: Our client operates in the dynamic and fast-paced automotive sector. They are committed to maintaining the highest standards of health and safety across their operations and are seeking a dedicated Health and Safety Officer to join their team in Northamptonshire.
Job Description: As a Health and Safety Officer, you will play a crucial role in setting up and maintaining health and safety processes within the company framework. The groundwork has already been laid by the current manager, and your responsibilities will include:
– Developing and updating risk assessments and method statements for all on-site processes.
– Addressing health and safety issues as they arise.
– Conducting audits of service providers to ensure compliance.
– Liaising with our counterparts in Spain to ensure uniformity and compliance with international standards.
– Leading efforts to achieve and maintain ISO standards, with support from our Spanish colleagues.
Key Responsibilities:
- Health and Safety Processes: Establish and maintain effective health and safety processes within the company framework.
- Documentation: Write comprehensive risk assessments and method statements for all site processes.
- Issue Resolution:Address and resolve health and safety issues promptly as they occur.
- Auditing: Conduct thorough audits of providers to ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
- Collaboration: Work closely with our Spanish counterparts to align on health and safety standards and practices.
- ISO Standards: Drive initiatives to achieve and maintain ISO standards, leveraging support from Spanish colleagues.
- Requirements: Proven experience in a health and safety role, ideally within the automotive or a related sector. Strong understanding of health and safety regulations and best practices. Excellent communication skills, with the ability to liaise effectively with international colleagues. Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks efficiently. Flexibility to handle urgent calls and emails outside of regular working hours. Proficiency in writing detailed risk assessments and method statements. Experience with ISO standards is a plus.
